Piggotts Flags & Branding Ltd is fortunate to have a long-standing, very good relationship with the famous British Library, which is this country’s national library. It is also the largest library in the world and houses over 150 million books and was established over 40 years ago (once it was detached from the British Museum).
Based in Euston Road London, it often has events celebrating various topics ranging this year from the Russian Revolution to Harry Potter: A History of Magic and the current Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms.
For each event, a number of banners are produced and hung in order to advertise the event, and this is where Piggotts Flags & Branding Ltd comes in to produce and install them for this great institution! For this particular event, which opens on 20th October, two banners were produced. They are made from a mesh PVC banner material (as they are being hung externally) so the mesh allows for wind to pass through the banner without damaging it. Each of the two banners has its own design and measured a whopping 6 meters (19.6 feet) by 2 meters (6.5 feet)!
With the wonderful designs being produced by the Library itself, our job was to produce and install them across the entranceway and open air atrium. The installation itself required a scaffolding tower to be erected in place due to the location and a two-man team to rig the tower and then hang the banners in place.
The results below show the banners just after installation and I’m sure you agree that they look very impressive indeed.
Tickets are on sale now and a link to the event can be found here:
