A short while ago, Cambridge University Hospital came to Piggotts Flags and Branding Ltd to ask for our support in producing their symbolic new flag that demonstrates, as the hospital put it, that they are “One big family” and of course, we were all too happy to help!
Cambridge University Hospital is part of the NHS Foundation Trust and The Trust wanted to show its appreciation and support of the 84 different nationalities that work there and had commissioned a very specific design created from the 84 national flags of the workers there and overlaid that onto a building design in the shape of the Hospital.
The flag itself measured 3.65 meters by 1.83 meters and with all the different national flags in the Hospital design on a rich blue background, it has made for a very striking flag indeed.
We got to work straight away to ensure that the flag was of the right weight and measurement so that it did the design and gesture justice. The time scales were very short as the hospital clearly wanted the flag flying as soon as possible and had arranged their own press to support the raising of the flag, so we knew we couldn’t be late.
On the 4th October the flag was raised and the feedback both in the design and quality of the flag were so positive, along with the thought and care that The Trust put into the design of the flag created to thank them all for their efforts.
Cambridge University Hospital put out its own news article about the flag which can be found here: https://www.cuh.nhs.uk/news/communications/trust-flags-value-overseas-staff
There are plenty of pics and video on social media too showing the flag flying just as it was meant too.
Piggotts Flags & Branding Ltd were privileged to have been a very small part of this celebration.
